The session fee is $490. The fee not only holds your date and allows us to book in the hair and makeup artist for your photoshoot, it also covers the consultation, photoshoot, one (1) gorgeous image of your choice and inclusion the Fabulous Over 40 Magazine.

CONSULTATION - to discuss your vision for how you want to be photographed with suggestions on wardrobe and styling to achieve your goals

HAIR & MAKEUP - professional makeover with camera ready makeup and hairstyling on the day of your photoshoot

ACCESS TO STUDIO WARDROBE and ACCESSORIES - you have unlimited access to the studio closet which includes dresses, scarves, hats and jewelry

PHOTOSHOOT – a 90 minute fully guided studio photoshoot with Julie

REVEAL & ORDER SESSION - an in-person meeting (in studio or via Zoom) to view the images we created for you. At this session you can choose the one (1) complimentary image in your $490 package and place your order for any additional images you love. A la carte portraits start at $275 and collections of six (6) or more start at $1500. The more photographs you purchase, the more you save.

PORTRAIT MAGAZINE - upon completion of the campaign, your photograph(s) and story will be included in a magazine celebrating women over 40

VIP FACEBOOK GROUP - be part of a community of women, share your experiences and cheer each other on

FEATURED ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA - your image(s) and story will be featured on our social media

Absolutely! When you see the stunning images we created for you, you'll most likely want them all! Additional portraits start at $275 each, but the more you buy, the more you save by purchasing collections. Collections start at six (6) images for $1500. Credit cards are accepted and pre-payment plans are available.

I offer digital images, both full resolution and social media sized and can work with you to create exactly the size and format you need for various online and print formats.

I also offer beautiful products to display and store your portraits, including matted prints, albums, folio boxes and gorgeous wall art.

My most popular item is an Italian hand-crafted folio box, which sits on your mantel or bookshelf to show off your new matted prints. It's like a living frame, where you can swap out the photo in the front at any time.

Wall art is available in many formats, including metal, acrylic, Italian cotton canvas unlike any other canvas you’ve seen, as well as traditional prints.

Julie Hood Photography’s portrait studio is located in Rocklin, CA, on the corner of Sunset and Pacific, just a mile off I-80.

Fabulous Over 40 sessions are studio only. If you have a need for location or outdoor portraits, please speak to Julie about a Custom Session.

Photoshoots are scheduled for Mondays or Fridays. I highly recommend Fridays because you’re going to look and feel fabulous! Plan a night out after to complete your day of pampering.

Availability is first come first served. During your initial call with Julie, she will share the next available dates and make sure to find an opening that works for you.

I started my own business in 2017 at the age of 47. I can relate to all my 40+ sisters with the feelings we have about aging and how we are underrepresented in the media. There's no expiration date on being a fabulous, happy, fulfilled, and vibrant woman. You inspire me. Your story inspires me. You show me and our society the truth-- that women just get better with time, like a fine wine! I am a huge believer in women's empowerment. There aren't enough platforms for women over 40 to share their stories and their beauty.

"Photogenic" is not something you are...or aren’t! It all has to do with how comfortable you are in front of the camera. It's my job, as your photographer, to make you comfortable so you look and feel amazing. And, lucky for you I am a trained master at making women of all ages, shapes and sizes look fabulous in photographs. 99% of the images you see on my website are everyday people just like you. Trust me - I’ve got you!

We’ll talk about this in detail at your Style Consultation and plan for multiple wardrobe changes so you can wear a variety of outfits that showcase the different sides of your personality.

I often say your photoshoot is like an "adult dress up play date" where you can switch from a dress or gown to a business suit, to casual in jeans and a t-shirt. You can wear a sun dress or yoga clothes. You can even wear lingerie or your birthday suit if you’d like.

I want to photograph you based on YOUR UNIQUE VISION. The Style Consultation is exactly where we’ll create this plan.

You can definitely include loved ones at the end of your session! Extra hair and make-up is $250 per person (if desired). Part of your story is the people you love, so if you want to include them, the more the merrier.

But you also have total permission to make this photoshoot just about YOU!

You can also schedule your sessions together and have a girls day at the studio. We can accommodate up to three (3) girlfriends in one day, just be prepared for your cheeks to hurt by the end of the day because it’s soooo much fun and there will be tons of laughter.

We’ve had mothers and daughters together, business partners and even had women from across the US fly in for a “girls weekend” that was incredible. Bringing women together to celebrate each other is the BEST!

I totally understand that life happens! I do book in my hair & makeup artist's time to be at your photoshoot. Therefore, you are allowed one reschedule 7 or more days out from your photoshoot at no charge. The Session Fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.

If we have less than 7 days notice (or this is the second time you need to reschedule) additional rescheduling fees will apply.

Every woman's story is inspiring and I believe every woman is beautiful. So, we aren't going to exclude anyone who wants to be involved. This campaign is first come, first served. If you:

- Pay your $490 participation fee to book your date

- Are over 40 (or turning 40 this year)

- Agree to have your image(s) and story shared in the magazine
