Can you share a moment of triumph or success that you’re particularly proud of?
I’m particularly proud at moments when I receive messages from past colleagues about how I positively impacted their lives.
What was one of the happiest moments of your life so far?
Holding my grandma’s hand while knowing, “I’m unconditionally loved”.
Looking back on your life, what’s a lesson you’ve learned that has stayed with you?
Being right is not as important as being kind.
When in your life, so far, have you felt most confident and why?
I feel most confident when my thoughts and actions are in alignment with my values and beliefs.
What is your favorite trait about yourself?
My favorite trait about myself is my reliability because I believe it demonstrates that my attitude and my behavior is aligned to reflect a caring connection with others.
Your Thoughts on Aging:
Are there any myths you would like to bust about being over 40, 50, 60 or 70?
The myth that aging equates to cognitive decline should be busted because I’m finding that even at 60 years old, I often continue learning fun, new things.
How has turning 40, 50, 60 or 70 changed your outlook on life?
Turning 60 has changed my outlook with me finally, truly, extending kindness to myself as I have effortlessly done so with others.
How do you embrace the changes that come with getting older?
Acceptance that I still have value and purpose despite not being the fastest, etc.
What are some of the things you enjoy now that you might not have appreciated in the past?
Spending simple moments by myself or sharing quiet time with loved ones, sharing others’ passions, and their bucket list activities.
Future Aspirations:
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you’re determined to accomplish and what’s your favorite thing you’ve checked off?
My favorite thing I recently checked off my bucket list was to take my mom on the Mississippi River paddleboat cruise; plus, visit other new places for us like Nashville, TN.
What does it mean to you to live fully at this stage of life?
Living fully at this stage of life means to keep connected to a purpose, hope and pacing activities to go the distance.
What is your favorite quote or motto that inspires you?
It is never too late to be a rockstar.
What is the one piece of advice you would give your 20 something self?
Don’t take failures to heart; rather, take note and compose yourself for the next round of the game.
Finding Joy:
What’s something that always makes you laugh, no matter how many times you hear or see it?
Baby goats make me belly laugh!
What are you passionate about? What brings you joy?
I’m passionate about my responsibilities as a nature and animal lover, hobby farmer with dairy
goats, daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, cousin, aunt and friend.

What made you decide to participate in the Fabulous Over 40 Portrait Experience?
I wanted to capture the moment of turning sixty and celebrate this milestone.
How did the photoshoot make you feel during and after the session?
It gave me that, “Oh, I’m worth it kind-of feeling”!
How did this portrait experience change the way you see yourself?
The fact that I did it made me realize that I do value myself.
