Can you share a moment of triumph or success that you’re particularly proud of?
Two wonderful children who completed college and are very successful in their careers.
What was one of the happiest moments of your life so far?
Ability to provide for my children and grandchildren so that they have childhood memories for a lifetime.
Looking back on your life, what’s a lesson you’ve learned that has stayed with you?
Japanese ethics, culture, hard work, give to those who are less fortunate without expecting anything in return, and the respect of others were part of my upbringing when living with my grandparents at a young age.
When in your life, so far, have you felt most confident and why?
Living each day and in the moment is what I cherish the most, as you will never know what tomorrow will bring.
What is your favorite trait about yourself?
Positive, caring person.
Your Thoughts on Aging:
Are there any myths you would like to bust about being over 40, 50, 60 or 70?
Every decade brings on new challenges and that makes us who we are.
How has turning 40, 50, 60 or 70 changed your outlook on life?
Appreciate where I’ve been, what I accomplished, and what I can do to improve the quality of life on this earth.
How do you embrace the changes that come with getting older?
Do not sweat the small things, as we embrace for what lies ahead.
What are some of the things you enjoy now that you might not have appreciated in the past?
I enjoy the simple things in life; it gives me joy and happiness. Smell the roses and cherish each moment.
Future Aspirations:
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you’re determined to accomplish and what’s your favorite thing you’ve checked off?
Live life to the fullest, be healthy, happy and be grateful for all life’s blessings.
What does it mean to you to live fully at this stage of life?
Everything, as my parents left this earth at a very young age.
